MAC Wonder Woman and The Superbowl

I decided a couple weeks ago to try my best to not purchase any makeup in February. I'm not sure why I wanted to do it but I feel good that it's been 1 week. I was just buying too much for too long and needed a break to actually use some of the products more than once.

Anyway on Jan 31st, the night before my makeup no buy started, MAC released their Wonder Woman collection early online. Obviously it was meant to be so I ordered a few things even though I really wasn't feeling the packaging.

One of the things I ordered is Pink Power MSF but it is huge and as pretty as the colors are, I just can't get past the jumbo red plastic packaging.

The two things I kept are Mighty Aphrodite Blush and Marquise d Lipstick.

Mighty Aphrodite is split into two colors, a rosy pink and a peachy natural shade. Very pretty!

Here are swatches from top to bottom: both blush shades mixed together, each individually, and Marquise d.

Marquise d is gorgeous, I had no idea how much I would love this!

I wore both yesterday for the Superbowl parties.

I grew up 45 mins from Pittsburgh so the Steelers are and always will be my team. In my family being a Steeler fan is not optional. Needless to say I was pretty bummed about the game but hell there's always next season, right?

Victorias Secret Love Me Wild Perfect Lipstick

I bought these lipsticks over a week ago but hadn't had a chance to post them. They are the Victorias Secret Perfect Lipsticks from the "Love MeWild" collection. As soon as I saw these online I knew I would have to have them! I went in store so I could swatch first and ended up coming home with 3 of the 4.

The colors I chose are Instinct, Heartbeat, and Pulse.

I can't choose a favorite because they are all gorgeous colors! Even though Spring is still months away I'm already getting tired of dark winter shades and being drawn towards bright colors!
The texture of these is very creamy and smooth! Their staying power isn't the best but I don't mind re applying.

Have you tried VS's Perfect Lipstick? I'm becoming a fan of their whole makeup line. I also recently picked up a blush from this collection and a lip scrub from the pro collection that I'll be reviewing soon!

Benefit Bella Bamba Blush

A few weeks back while in Ulta I swatched this blush and I just had to have it. It's Benefit Bellabamba, a "3D" blush. I don't know about all that but the color is gorgeous!

The packaging is typical of Benefit blushes except for the bright hologram like design.

This blush is very soft and the color can be built up easily.

I have been using a duo fiber brush to apply it.

I'm sure it will easily become of my favorites for spring. The color glows and even though it looks like it's packed full of glitter it doesn't give that disco ball look when applied.

This was $28 at Ulta and for me, worth every penny! Last month I couldn't stop buying lip products and now it seems I'm on to blushes!

A few weeks ago I entered a giveaway Yolonda was having on her blog Diva In Deep Thought and I won! The prize was a Sigma Hollywood Glamour Marilyn Retractable Kabuki Brush.

The metal casing is red and when you take the lid off a metal guard slides down to expose the brush head.

I haven't had a chance to wash the brush and try it out but I think I'm going to like it! It has extremely soft very dense bristles.

New Shades of Revlon Colorburst Lipstick

Hi ladies! A couple weeks ago Revlon released 4 new shades of their Colorburst Lipsticks. I really like the ones I have so I went ahead and picked up a couple. After trying them I went back for the others.

They are a similar formula to the previous shades but these have glitter throughout and go on a little more sheer.

Pink Sugar

Icy Nude

Candy Pink

Cherry Ice

I really like all 4 shades but for me Candy Pink and Cherry Ice are the stand outs.

That being said I have been wearing Pink Sugar a lot recently.

Do you plan to pick up any of the new shades?

New Revlon Colorburst Glosses!

Hi ladies! Last week while browsing CVS I came across the new Revlon Colorburst glosses. They have similar packaging to the Super Lustrous Glosses but are a much longer tube and have the same design the Colorburst Lipsticks do on the cap. Of course I just had to pick up a couple. I was so happy with those that the very next day I went back for a few more. I think they were around $7 each.

From left to right the colors I picked are Orchid, Peony, Bronze Shimmer, Hot Pink, and Crystal Lilac.

The swatches are in the same order from above.
The texture of these is very smooth, not sticky. The glitter in them is very fine so they don't feel gritty on my lips. I can't say I have a favorite, I've been wearing Orchid a lot but yesterday I wore Peony and loved it.

I may get a few more of these. Papaya, Sunset Peach, and Strawberry.
They also have 4 new shades of the Colorburst lipstick available. I picked up 2 and will be doing a seperate post on them soon.

MAC Peacocky Kissable Lipcolour - So Vain & Flaunting It

MAC recently released the Peacocky collection and I was very drawn to the "Kissable Lipcolours". At $18 each I didn't want to go overboard so I only picked up 2. I convinced myself that I didn't want any of the eyeshadows because they wouldn't fit in my palettes but now I'm regretting not picking up Centre Stage and Unflabbable.

I love the formula of these! MAC says it's a cross between a gloss and lipstick, I would say they are right on with that description.
Don't mind my crazy hair in these pics. I didn't do anything with it until after I took these.

These are not sticky at all and are very pigmented.

I have a feeling I'll end up getting at least 1 more of these. I need a pink shade!

I tried out the WnW Silent Treatment e/s trio today also. I'm impressed with the way WnW has improved the quality of their products.

Urban Decay Urbanglow Cream Highlight in Brown Sugar

I bought the Urban Decay Urbanglow in Brown Sugar a couple weeks ago and I am so glad I did!

Inside the funky purple compact is a very smooth easily blendable cream highlight.

The swatch below is without blending. It has a more natural look once applied to the cheeks.

Urbanglow doesn't give my skin an oily look or feel like some cream highlights do. I believe this was $22, which to me is reasonable for a high quality product.

Urban Decay has released some new colors for spring and I am anxious to pick up a couple more. I think these will be a favorite for me, especially once summer comes around.

Essie Polish in Mezmerised & Sew Psyched

I recently picked up these 2 polishes from essie. I really like both. I think Mesmerised will be a favorite for spring, it reminds me of the beach and Sew Psyched is a very unique army green shade.

MAC Mickey Contractor Lipsticks - Mehr and Yash

I thought I was going to want everything from the Mickey Contractor collection but after seeing swatches I only wanted 2 lipsticks and a blush. Even though I placed my order right away the blush had already sold out.
The 2 lipsticks I got are Mehr and Yash.

Both are matte so I would normally wear a gloss on top but for the swatches I didn't.

Mehr is a pretty pink that is unique compared to all the other pinks in my collection.

Yash is much darker than the only other matte nude I have which is Myth.

The closest dupe I have to it is the nude color from the WnW matte lipsticks.

I'm very happy that I picked up these 2. Both will look great with a variety of different glosses.

Dangerous Cuvee Paint Pot from MAC Champale Collection

There were a lot of pretty things in MACs recent Champale collection but after swatching everything this was the only item I really wanted. I almost bought Vintage Selection paint pot but I'm trying to be conservative with my makeup purchases this year. haha we'll see how that goes!

Dangerous Cuvee is a steel frosty shade with glitter. I have been using it all over the lid as a base then blending a darker shadow in the outer v.

This makes an easy fast look that still has a little pop to it. I use UDPP underneath so it really stays put with no creasing, I haven't tried it without.

I'm so happy I picked this one up, it's unique in my collection and I think I'll reach for it often.

I had a lot of trouble getting a pic of Ki that was true to color. This polish is like chamelion paint for the nails. In some lights it is this shade of purple but in others it is green. Below is another picture of the bottle that shows it better.

If you haven't tried Zoya polishes I highly recommend taking advantage of this offer. It's good through tomorrow evening. Their site is moving a little slow because of the huge traffic volume but it's definately worth the wait!

Hi ladies! I hope you all enjoyed the holidays! I had a wonderful time. It is always nice to spend time with my family and just enjoy the blessing of another year. I wish you all the best in 2011!
I have a lot of new products I acquired over the holidays that I want to show you so it was hard to decide what to start with.
I was browsing CVS last week and saw these Loreal HIP Pigments for 75% off.

I hadn't paid these much attention previously or I probably would have paid full price because these colors are gorgeous!

The first one is Tenacious, followed by Intrepid, then Unashamed.
In the swatches below the bottom row is dry and the top row is done with a brush that had been wet with elf makeup mist & set.

They are almost as intense dry as they are wet but when I applied them dry I had some fallout.
I used Unashamed the other night and was very happy with it.

I'm going to go back to CVS and see what other colors are available. These are very easy to work with, have great color pay off, and stay put. I definitely want more!

I guess I'm a little behind getting this post up. You've probably seen 100+ swatches of this lipstick by now but even though I got it a couple weeks ago I just put it on for the first time today.

I was hoping the color would look on my lips the way it does in the tube but it doesn't. Still, it's a pretty pink and I'm glad I got one.

For me this isn't the most wearable shade but I wore it to work today anyway. lol

The Peppermint Cuticle Oil is nice. I have to be careful not to put on too much or it gets a little sticky.
Mrs Claus and Party Hearty are much prettier in person. I just couldn't get a decent picture. Little Drummer Boy is a deep dark blue, almost navy, and applies smoothly. Naughty and Nice is a great color but it didn't go on as well as I would like, a little goopy. The star of the collection for me is Phat Santa. It is by far my favorite and goes on perfectly!

Stila 24kt Gloss Golden Charm & Vintage Merlot

Stila is always having great sales online. A couple weeks ago I ordered 2 of their 24kt glosses.
Golden Charm & Vintage Merlot:

They are packed with gold glitter.

Both are great colors and all around nice glosses. They stay put a little while and for as much glitter as each one holds, they aren't extremely gritty.

I'm not a fan of brush applicators, especially ones like this that the product sort of oozes out of when twisted.

I wish Stila would use a different applicator but the glosses are, as always, nice quality and pretty colors.
This set is only $10 right now during their warehouse sale. I think I paid $12 during one of their Friday Happy Hour sales.

Revlon PhotoReady Compact Makeup

Revlon has come out with a compact form of their PhotoReady foundation and this review is going to be more of a product rave because I am really liking it.

I like my PhotoReady liquid but I don't like to wear makeup that heavy every day. This compact is perfect for me because it has spf 20 and feels lighter on my skin. Most compact foundations cake up on me but this one doesn't because of the screen that liquefies the makeup and helps with even application to the sponge.

This foundation is easily buildable and, after setting with powder, lasts all day. The color I picked up is 150 Shell. My only complaint about this compact is that with the screen I can't use a brush to apply it. I have to use the sponge included.

In the pictures I am wearing the PhotoReady Compact with a mineral powder to set it. I highly recommend this compact, I think I paid about $10.99 at CVS.

I'm also wearing MAC Courting Lilac lipstick.
On my eyes I'm just wearing UDPP, Loreal HIP Shadow paint for a base, MAC Ricepaper all over, MAC Club blended in the crease and outer v, Maybelline gel liner, and Loreal Voluminous Extra Collagen Mascara (review soon). I really love Club, it's one of my favorite eyeshadows.

Revlon Suede Rhapsody Holiday 2010 Polishes

I seem to have gone a little overboard on holiday polishes this year. The first group I'm posting is Revlon's Suede Rhapsody polishes. All of these went on easily and dried quickly but they did not last well for me. I saw wear and chipping within a day, the colors are pretty and festive though.
First up is my favorite of the bunch, Emerald City:

Ruby Ribbon is a close second:

Fire Fox is a bright red and I like how the matte finish tones it down just a bit:

Powder Puff is my least favorite, it just doesn't do much for me, it is nice for a soft look though:

All in all I like this collection. The colors are very wearable and the matte finish makes these basic shades a bit more unique.

My Love for MAC Courting Lilac Lipstick

For the past week and a half I have been wearing this lipstick non stop. Courting Lilac is from the MAC A Tartan Tale Collection and I love it. Other than picking up a Viva Glam Lip Bag for my giveaway this is the only thing I bought from Chapter 1 of the collection. There are a couple things I want from Chapter 2 though.

I'm really glad I picked this up. I don't have anything similar so it's unique in my collection.

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lipstick

I know everyone has seen these all over the place but I though I would go ahead and post the ones I have. Wet n Wild has really improved recently. These lipsticks come in a variety of shades, are long lasting, and have a nice finish. They dry my lips just a little so I wear lip balm underneath them.

At $3 each my favorite thing about these lipsticks is trying out new colors without spending big money. I have probably 40+ MAC lippies and they are almost all pink/neutral/corals. When I'm spending $14 I want a lipstick that I think I will use frequently. Some of these I picked up at Walgreens when they were 49 cents so I grabbed colors that I normally wouldn't. I'm really glad I did because I've been loving them.

My Holiday Wishlist!

An Ipad. My sweet husband gave me the money to get myself one yesterday as an early gift but I won't be crossing it off my list until I leave the Apple Store this weekend.

The Cedar Falls Triclimate Jacket from The North Face. What can I say, not very glamorous, but it gets cold here in the winter!

A Keurig Coffee Maker. I love that these are single cup, have a variety of flavors, and give off that posh coffee house vibe. lol. It would also be cool to easily make guests a flavor of their choice without brewing pot after pot.

Michael Kors two tone watch. For me MK has the affordable watch game all tied up. I just love his pieces and this one would be great for everyday since I mostly wear white gold but like the option of yellow.I saw Ebru's on her blog the other day and it made me want to not wait for the holidays to get one!

Last but not least is the NARS Sweet Disposition Set for the holiday season. I just saw this on Vex In The City's blog. So cute! It's 3 little multiples in the shades Luxor, Mailbu, and Orgasm. Sounds perfect to me!

Wedding, Honeymoon, Finally Back, Pic Heavy!

Hi ladies! I haven't posted anything in over a month and it feels like even longer! I have a really good excuse though, I got married on Sept 18th then we went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. Everything was amazing and after being together for years and 13 months of planning the wedding, it all went smoothly! We had family come from 2 countries and 5 states. Most of the groomsmen came from London. It was an amazing weekend full of family, friends, and loving support. We had around 100 guests and I can't express what a wonderful experience it was!
So here are a couple pictures of the wedding. We don't have the pro ones yet, my Dad took these.

I cried the whole way down the aisle and during the ceremony so I really looked a mess by the time we took pictures. It didn't matter as much as I thought it would though, it was all about enjoying the moment.
The reception was the best part, our families have such a good time together, it's always entertaining to see our cultures mix!
We all changed clothes in between, the reception was much more casual.

I had never been to Hawaii before. Being from the east coast we always head to Carribean for vacations. I have to say it was well worth the 12 hours of flight time! (Charlotte to Minneapolis then on to Honolulu) I have never been anywhere with such perfect weather or scenery.

It has been an unforgettable month full of amazing memories.

When first saw the promo picks for the China Glaze Vintage Vixen Collection I wasn't all that excited but once I saw it in person there were a few colors I had to grab. I'm already getting burnt out on the bright shades of summer and being drawn to fall colors.
First is Emerald Fitzgerald, a very dark green/turquoise. 2 coats.

Next is Classic Camel, a light golden/tan. 2 coats.

And finally, my favorite from the collection, Swing Baby. A brown/bronze with lots of shimmer. 2 coats.

Loreal Colorist Secrets Shine Gloss

Hi Ladies! I've been crazy busy with wedding planning but decided to take this weekend off to spend time with my fiance, catch up on blogs, and just relax. It's only 3 weeks til the wedding so things have been hectic. Anyway in the midst of the wedding planning I noticed that my hair was looking really dull and went on the hunt for a solution.
This is where Loreal Shine Gloss comes in.

This is a clear shine gloss that will not affect the color you already have on your hair. I bought this at Wal Mart for around $6 I think. It applies similar to a boxed hair dye but you only leave it on 10 minutes. It doesn't contain ammonia so no harsh chemical smell.

Dull dreary and just blah looking.
And this is my hair after:

I know the before and after doesn't look very dramatic in the photos but it really made a big difference in the look and texture of my hair. The results are supposed to last 6 weeks but I only used it a week ago so I'll update this post in the future.

Lip Love - Jemma Kidd Muse Lipstick

While browsing Target last week I came across the Jemma Kidd makeup display. Some of the lipsticks were on clearance for $4 so I picked up "Muse".

I knew I liked the color but I didn't know how much until wore it the 1st time. Fall must be coming because I find myself being drawn less to bright colors and more towards neutrals/fall shades. This lipstick is perfect for me right now.

It reminds me a lot of Freckletone so I did some comparing. It is a very close dupe but Muse has a little shimmer to it and is less brown / more pink however you would say it.

If you like Freckletone keep an eye out for Muse on clearance! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Cover Girl Lashblast Fusion

I recently received Cover Girl Lashblast Fusion to review through BzzAgent. Basically you receive products that meet your interest to review and spread the word about. There is no compensation other than getting to try out new products at no cost. If you want to join just click HERE.
Anyway, on to the mascara.
Other than being purple, Lashblast Fusion has the same style tube and brush as previous versions of Lashblast.

It claims to have an oversized volumizing brush and a fiberstretch lengthening formula. I like bold lashes and this mascara delivers. It gives lots of volume and good length.
Below are comparison photos. Before on the left, after on the right. Just click to enlarge. This is 3 coats.

I didn't have any flaking or smudging with this. It stays put very well through a full day of work. I really like the look this mascara gives, it does take a few coats but I didn't notice any clumping. Some mascaras give more length but it usually means giving up the thickness. I think Fusion is the best single step mascara I've found at doing both.

If you're looking to try out a new mascara, I would recommend picking this up, it retails for $8.99.

e.l.f. Studio Brushes, Cleaner, Shampoo, and Beauty Books

I recently purchased these items from e.l.f. - As always all pics can be clicked on to enlarge.

I repurchased both the Daily Brush Cleaner and Brush Shampoo. To use the daily cleaner I just spray a little on the brush and wipe it off. This keeps my brushes fresh between washings. With the brush shampoo I put a little in my soap dish with warm water, lather up the brush, and rinse. Both of these products are anti bacterial and only $3 for good size bottles.
I am also a big fan of e.l.f. brushes. I have quite a few of the regular line, and I like them, but I prefer the studio line.

From the far left and going clockwise these are the blush brush, c brush, kabuki, contour brush, and powder brush. I didn't have a kabuki from elf yet and I have to say it's very soft but not extremely useful to me. I like for a kabuki to be a little stiffer than this one. e.l.f. studio line brushes are so inexpensive at $3 each that I just keep buying more and now have 1-2 backups of each.
I also got 2 of the 3 Beauty Books. I wasn't sure how the quality of these shadows would be but for $5 each I decided to give them a try. Now I'm wishing I would have gone ahead and picked up the 3rd one.
This is the Neutral Eye Edition.

Each book comes with 12 shadows, 1 eyeliner, a mirror, and 1 applicator. I don't see myself ever using the liner or applicator but the shadows are very pretty, well pigmented colors.
The other is the Eye Brights Edition.

The edition I didn't get is Smokey Eye but I'm sure I'll grab it as soon as I have a chance.
I highly recommend all of these products. Some of the e.l.f. line is available at Target but I usually order from the website. They always have coupon codes that save me more money than what s&h charges add up to.

The Weekend & MAC Chatterbox

Hi ladies! I finally was able to have a nice weekend at home. We have been out of town most every weekend all summer so it was really nice to have no where to be for once. Yesterday we went to dinner and to see Inception. It was a good movie, a little long but a great story.
My makeup for the day:

I have been obsessed with MAC Chatterbox lipstick lately. The color and formula (amplified creme) are both perfect.

I also had the chance to wear the earrings my grandma brought me from Italy. They are very heavy but I love them.

A Few Current Favorites - Misc

Here are a few products I've been loving so far this summer:

Victorias Secret Pink Sugar Scrub

This scrub smells great and keeps my skin fresh. It is very thick and coarse, great for elbows, knees, and feet.
After exfoliating with the scrub I have been using Aveeno Advanced Care Moisturizing Cream.

This lotion makes my skin really soft. My upper arms get very dry and red, so far this lotion is the only thing I've found that actually takes care of it. Also I never get razor burn if I use this after shaving.

eos Lip Balm in Lemon Drop with spf

I've raved about the eos balm before so I won't go into detail but I had to include it.

Plus White 5 Minute Whitening Gel

I have tried many expensive teeth whitening products but nothing gives me the results this $5 tube of gel does.
China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy

Flip Flop Fantasy is a fluorescent coral. It's hard to get a photo that shows just how bright this polish is.

A Couple Things From MAC's In The Groove Collection

I actually received these last week but I was out of town all weekend and didn't get a chance to use them. I had ordered Stereo Rose also but later received the backorder email from MAC. Oh well, I think the only reason I wanted it was because of all the hype. So on to what I did get......

Jazzed lipstick and Happy Together blush.

I love them both! Jazzed is a little streaky but the color makes up for it. Happy together is subtle against my skintone and gives my cheeks a pretty glow.

I'm really happy with both of these, I think I'll be using them a lot.

Trying to beat the heat with MAC MSF Natural & Matte

It is crazy hot here on the east coast, around 100 degrees this week. I am not much for wearing thick foundation any time of the year but there is no way I could do it in this weather! Unfortunately for me I have don't have great skin so I have to wear something. My breakouts aren't bad and usually only happen the 1st week of each month but I have small bumps, large pores, and an uneven skin tone.

I've been using MAC Matte on my t zone and MSF Natural in Medium Dark everyday instead of foundation.

Matte gives me a good base, helps smooth out my skin, and prevents some of the oiliness. The MSF Natural evens out my skin tone and gives me a light coverage with a smooth finish.
Don't mind my hair in these pics, it was still wet.

Considering how light this is and how well it stays put in the heat I am very happy with the results. I usually touch up with Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder around lunchtime.

While I was at Walgreens the other day I bought this cute trio of eos lip balms.

The yellow is Lemon Drop, green is Honeysuckle Honeydew, and pink is Summer Fruit. I really like all 3 but my favorite is Lemon Drop because it has spf 15 and tastes/smells like candy.

Not only is the packaging unique and adorable but the balm is moisturizing and smooth, love it!

Maybelline The Falsies Volume Express Mascara

I recently picked up Maybelline The Falsies Volume Express Mascara. For some reason I didn't double check which color I was grabbng and got Brownish Black instead of Black.

It has that very wet, slick texture and I just end up making a mess of my eyelids when applying it. I don't normally feel clumsy when putting on mascara but with this I do. Also the brush is very long and can get in the way a bit.

As you can see it gives my lashes length but not much volume.

For me this mascara just doesn't impress or live up to the name "falsies". If you are looking primarily for length and like slicker mascaras then this may work for you.The name and cute packaging sucked me in but I will not be repurchasing.

MAC To The Beach - It Was A Lazy Day

I'm a little behind posting my To The Beach purchases but I received it right before the holiday and then went out of town. Even though it was a crazy busy week at work, I found plenty of time to try out my new Lazy Day lipstick and I love it! I bought Marine Life Highlight Powder also.

When future hubby and I went to the movies and grocery store today I wore Lazy Day. How appropriate, right? It's just my perfect everyday summer pink.

Finger Paints Polishes - Tangerine Tint, Hue Rang?, and Come On Coral

I really like the formula of Finger Paints Polishes but the colors never seem to catch my eye. Every time I look at them I end up going with China Glaze instead. The shades are never quite what I want. That being said the formula is excellent and they were having a sale so I ended up with these.

I'm glad I picked these up but I doubt they'll become go to favorites.

A Few Things From Sonya Cosmetics & Skincare

Over the last couple months I have received a couple of products from a relative to review. They were all from the Sonya Cosmetics line. I first reviewed the Concealer Wheel and Mineral Foundation, click HERE to view. Next I was sent the Floral Mist Palette, click HERE to view.
I was very pleased with everything I received and decided to place a small order myself for a few things I wanted to try. First up Sonya Cosmetics Lipstick in Sheer Peach Fuzz.

This lipstick is very smooth and I'm loving the color. All Sonya products are all natural and contain aloe, I think that's why it feels so good on. It's very conditioning, almost feels like chap stick once applied except it stays put longer. The lipsticks are $11.95.
Next is the Sonya Makeup Remover.

This remover does the job without making my skin feel sticky or tight. I have a hard time finding makeup remover that doesn't leave a residue so I'm so happy with this one! I hold the cotton ball to my eye for about 10 seconds then wipe away. I usually have to make a couple swipes to get all the mascara. I have gotten this in my eyes a couple times and was surprised to find it didn't burn. The bottle is good size and I'm sure will last me quite a while. It was $8.95.
My other purchase was the Aloe Chapstick but I have used most of it and managed to tear the label off so I am using a stock photo.

It was $2.95 and I would definitely recommend adding it to any order. It feels great on the lips and has a wonderful kind of fruity smell.

MAC Pressed Pigment Quad

Since I am into peachy/orange shades this summer I was feeling very drawn to Melon pigment. I thought of just getting a sample but my palette obsession lead me to this. 4 pigments of my choice pressed and put in a quad. For $26.50 incl s&h I purchased this from MyBeautifulAddiction and love it. This is the only purchase I have made from her so all I can say is that this transaction went very well. The quad was very well packaged and arrived quickly.
I chose Melon, Chocolate Brown, Naked, and Apricot Pink.

I received this last week and used it everyday before work. These looks are all kind of similar but I managed to take pictures 4 days in a row at 5:30 in the morning so I'm still posting them.

Relaxing Weekend & Smashbox Heatwave

I've had Smashbox Eye and Cheek Color in Heatwave for a while now but hadn't used it. Like many things it got tucked away in a makeup drawer and forgotten about. I came across it while doing some organizing this weekend and decided to try it out. We just went to lunch with some friends and ran errands.

This can be used on the eyes or cheeks, I used the center pink shade on the lid and top orange/brown shade in the crease. Next I used Mac Pigment in Chocolate Brown (pressed) on the outside edge of the crease and Sally Girl Champagne as a highlight.

Maybelline Dream Mousse Peach Satin Blush & Concealer

I have been wearing Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Peach Satin and the concealer in Ivory for the past week or so and I'm really liking them both!

I purchased the concealer in Ivory because I wanted it to be a few shades lighter to use under my eyes.
The blush is a pretty peachy pink with a little shimmer.

I use my finger to dab the concealer under my eyes. It has a very light and smooth texture so it doesn't take much to blend it in. For the blush I am using a small kabuki and applying it under my mineral foundation. This works well for me because it helps the blush last all day and gives me a glow of color for work without being too much.

I am very happy with both products. They are resonabley priced, around $7 each, have a nice texture, last throughout the day, and come in a variety of shades.
I recommend using a brush for the blush, I don't think it would work as well if I applied it with my fingers.
Even though I love my mineral foundations I may pick up one from this line to try as well.
I have to say, Maybelline is by far my favorite drugstore makeup.

YSL Rouge Volupte - Revlon Colorburst - China Glaze For Audrey

I thought I would show you all a few things that I just had to pick up after seeing some of my favorite ladies rave about them on their blogs.
First up is the fabulous YSL Rouge Volupte Radiant Lipstick in Peach Passion. I saw this in a few colors on Ebrushkas Makeup Bag, Hollywood Heels, and Lip Gloss Gossip and knew I had to have one. I am so glad I picked this up! It is very creamy, a beautiful color, and the packaging is exceptional.

The price is steep at $34 but I like a little indulgence every now and then.

Next we have Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Nude. This one I spotted on so many blogs that I can't name them all but I think TKOmulatta at Life Love and Beauty sold me on it.
This is a great neutral for work and has a creamy texture. It can be a little drying so I like to wear it with a gloss on top.

This one is on the opposite end of the price spectrum from the YSL. For around $8 you can pick it up at any drugstore.

This is China Glaze For Audrey. When I first saw this color I wasn't sold on it but after seeing Anniedollface and Ebrushkas Makeup Bag, I had to give it a second look. I am so glad I did!

The Weekend and China Glaze Secret Periwinkle

Hi Ladies! These photos are from Saturday. We were going shopping then to a friends to watch boxing. Just a casual day.
My makeup was very simple, just neutrals from the UD Deluxe Box, mostly Shag and Underground.
Liner: Maybelline Gel, Mascara: Maybelline XXL Extensions, Foundation and Concealer: Sonya Colors, Lipstick: Mac Shy Girl.
My face really wasn't as oily as the flash is making it look!

I wore a top that I picked up at Charlotte Russe a couple weeks ago with a random brown tank and Red Camel Katie Jeans. The top has sequins inside the pocket. Very comfy with a touch of bling, love it!.

I also used China Glaze Secret Periwinkle. Such a pretty color! This is 3 coats + a top.

Claire's Mood Polishes and Matte Top Coat

This weekend I picked up Claire's Mood Polishes in daring/innocent (grey/cream) and calm/wild (purple/pink) and the Matte Top Coat. The polishes are $4.50 each and BOGO 50% off. They were fun at the time but a couple days later and now I'm kind of over it. Anyway, here are some pics starting with cold water and going to warm.

I still like the purple/pink because most of the time due to body temp it is pink on the bottom and purple at the tips which has a gradient look. The grey/cream one does the same but with cream at the bottom and grey at the tip. The problem, as my fiance pointed out, is that with the grey showing at the tips only my nails just look dirty. Of course that's not the look I want to go for so I won't be using it again.
Next up is the Matte Top Coat, I tried it out on a few of my polishes.

This stuff I'm really happy with. It's cheaper than other matte tops and works just as well in my opinion. It was $4.00 and BOGO 50% Off so I got 2 for $6.

I was sent the Sonya Cosmetics Floral Mist Palette to review. You can find my review of the Concealer Wheel and Mineral Foundation by clicking HERE.
Sonya Cosmetics are all natural and aloe based. You can view their website HERE. When you use this link click on "online store" at the bottom left then choose your country from the drop down menu.
The Floral Mist Palette is $29.92. It includes 3 eyeshadows, a blush, a lip gloss, and a double ended brush. The colors are Jasmine, Orchid, African Violet, Tea Rose, and Tulip.

The eyeshadows are very pigmented and have a smooth easy to blend texture. I think African Violet is especially gorgeous. I used it in the outer v and to line my bottom lash line in the look below.

I am very happy with the quality of this palette. The colors are beautiful and very nice to work with. I highly recommend giving these products a try. They are impressive.
The only negative thing I can say about this palette is the included brush was not worth trying to use but that is the case with many brands.

The Tea Rose blush is also a beautiful color. It is a pale pink with light shimmer. The color can be built up and it has an extremely smooth texture.

I am not really a fan of lip gloss that has to be applied with a brush but this gloss goes on more like a stain. Being a gloss the color is much lighter than it appears in the palette. I am wearing both below.

A Few Things From Sally Girl

I picked up a few more things from Sally Girl last time I was there. The little polishes are so cute. Here are Tropical Sunset, Pink It Up, and Satsuma.
Each swatch is only 2 coats with no top.

Next up are more of their eyeshadow singles that slide together so you can create your own palette. This time I went for a couple peach colors and a couple browns. The colors are Peach, Orange Crush, Black Brown, and Espresso.

I buy these in neutral shades to make quick looks for work. I'm lovin Orange Crush the most.
Here is a quick look I did for work yesterday using all but Black Brown. The colors were much bolder in person but I was taking these pics in awful light at 5:30 in the morning.

Here is the full face shot. As you can see it was a long week and I was wore out by the time Friday morning rolled around.

CQ Tahitian Green with Sinful Colors Hottie

I have had Sinful Colors Hottie for awhile now but hadn't used it yet. I was trying to lighten CQ Tahtian Green a little and get a pretty glittery look. I really like how this turned out.

Heel to Toe Foot Softener

Heel to Toe Foot Softener was an impulse buy while waiting in line at Sally's. It was only $1.79 and with sandal season fast approaching I decided to give it a try.

My feet were not in bad condition but the heels were dry and a little rough. I've been using this product every other day for just over a week but the results were obvious after the first use. Right away the skin felt smoother and it lasted until the next use. The formula is thick and a little greasy feeling when first applied but it wasn't enough to keep me from using it. The results make it worth while. My feet are now sandal ready!
I recommend picking up a jar, it will be a staple for me this summer.

China Glaze Raspberry Festival - A Favorite From Last Summer

China Glaze Raspberry Festival. This polish is from last summer but we have been having some really beautiful weather this week and I ended up with it on my nails.
It goes on smooth, this is 3 coats + a top.

These pictures really don't do this polish justice. It has much more shimmer than what you can see here.

Jane Shimmering Blush

I recently picked up Jane Shimmering Blush in Natural Blush. I seem to be drawn to any makeup that involves multiple shimmering colors that can be mixed together. I was walking through Wal Mart and for $5 I couldn't help but toss it in the cart. Jane makeup was one of my favorites in Jr High when my makeup budget was dictated by my lovely mom. It seems like it disappeared for awhile after that then all the sudden a few years ago I noticed it again. For whatever reason I hadn't picked up anything but a lip balm since it's return.

This blush consists of 5 strips of color ranging from highlighters to pink to peach. All with lots of shimmer. The flip side opens to a mirror and brush. I have not used the brush because it feels stiff and plastic like.
This is oil free and I have seen no negative effects on my skin from using it.
Below is a swatch of all all the colors swirled together.

This really gives my cheeks a pretty glow. The texture is not as smooth and silky as some of my higher priced products but I like the results.

I recommend picking this up if you are looking for a nice highlighter with a glow of peachy color at a great price. I have reached for it daily since I got it and I have a feeling it will be one of my favorites this spring.

CQ Violet Frost and MIA for Easter

Hello Ladies! It's been less than a week but I feel like I've been gone forever! I spent my Easter holiday with family and had a wonderful time. It was tough getting back to work yesterday. I'm already looking forward to the weekend!
Anyway I just wanted to do a quick post showing whats on my nails right now.
This is CQ Violet Frost. 3 coats + top.

I also used this color for my toes. It's a little more frosted than I like but still a pretty Spring color.
If you don't like feet, look away!

Sonya Cosmetics Concealer Wheel & Mineral Foundation Review

*As I mentioned in a previous post I was sent these products to review. I am not being compensated in any way, this is simply my honest opinion and experience with this product.

First up is the Sonya Cosmetics Concealer Wheel, $19.99. The wheel includes a handy chart that shows what each color can be used for. Here is the breakdown:
Beige-to conceal imperfections
Mint-to neutralize redness, great for sunburns and rosacea
Yellow-for darkness and redness, excellent for dark circles and warming the skin
Light Beige-to conceal imperfections, great as a highlighter
Lilac-Brightens yellow skin, excellent as an eyeshadow base to brighten the eyes

This wheel is fabulous! It does the job of so many products! In the photos below I used the colors as recommended. Yellow under my eyes, Green on my always red cheekbones, Beige to cover any blemishes, Light Beige as a highlighter under the eyes and down my nose, and Purple as an eyeshadow base.
Next I applied the Mineral Foundation in Natural, $21.99. It feels like silk! I have never felt any powder that is this fine. When I first swatched this I was concerned because it has a lot of shimmer to it however this does not show on the skin, it just gives a pretty glow.
I have noticed that after a full day at work my skin feels a little slick, not oily though. The even coverage lasts all day. This foundation alone is a light to medium coverage. I like that it feels light on my skin.

In the collage below you can see the before and after. I took these photos at 5:30 this morning before work. The first photos on the left are bare skin (scarey), except moisturizer. Next over is after using the concealer wheel, then after foundation, and finally on the right, my finished face.(click to enlarge)

I am not wearing any other face products. As you can see these products do a great job of evening out my skintone and they glide onto the skin. I have only been using them a week and already thinking about ordering backups! My skin has not had any negative reacton to these which is great because it can be very sensitive.
All of the Sonya Cosmetics products are Aloe based, I have included a photo of the ingredients below.

CQ Pink Coral and Seashell Nail Polishes

Here are a couple CQ polishes I have tried recently. First up is Pink Coral. It applied smooth and I love the color. This is 3 coats + a top.

Next is Seashell. It's a nice nude color and kind of has the whole mannequin hand thing going. This one did not apply quite as well. It was streaky through the first 3 coats but finally got a nice finish after 4 + a top.

I recently received a package from a relative containing 2 products from Forever Living. He has invested in the company and wanted me to try them out. Forever Living has several lines of product from weight loss and beauty products to pet care. They are all natural aloe based products. I was sent the Concealer Wheel and Mineral Foundation from the Sonya Cosmetics line. I have not had a chance to properly try this out yet but when I swatched them I was pleasantly surprised that both the foundation and concealers were very silky. I'm anxious to see how they do and will be using them for the rest of the week.
The foundation seems very shimmery compared to the one I am currently using, I'm not sure how I feel about that.

The concealers come with a guide that shows you what each color can be used for.

The prices are not outrageous but they are high enough that I expect a quality product. The Mineral Foundation is $21.95 and the Concealer Wheel is $19.95. More Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro Polish and Lasting Finish Lipstick

A few days ago I mentioned Rimmel Lasting Finsh Pro nail polish in Steel Grey, here. I really liked the polish, it went on very nice and didn't chip. Since then I have tried 2 more colors from this line and was equally impressed with them. The brush on these polishes is flat with a rounded tip. For me this makes application much easier.

Here are Stiletto Red and Posh Pink.

When I went to Walgreens to pick up the polishes all the Rimmel products were 50% off so I also grabbed a couple Lasting Finish Lipsticks. They are a little drying when worn alone but the colors are pretty for spring.

e.l.f. Eyelid Primer

e.l.f. products are very hit or miss for me. I wanted to try out the Eyelid Primer. At $1 I didn't have much to lose.

I normally use Urban Decay Primer Potion but thought it would be great if I could find a less expensive alternative for everyday use. I have compared swatches of the two in the pictures below. The e.l.f. primer is a little darker when swatched but blends in sheer. The color boost it gives eyeshadow is very similar with both primers. In the photos I have used Urban Decay Fishnet eyeshadow on top of each primer.
UDPP on the left, e.l.f. on the right.

The e.l.f. primer does really well during application but falls short for me when it comes to wear. My eyelids get oily after a few hours with e.l.f. primer and after a couple more hours I can see some light creasing.
The photos below show the wear after a couple of hours.

All in all I do like the e.l.f. primer and will be repurchasing but I'll stick to UDPP when I need my eye makeup to last all day. Considering that e.l.f. primer is only $1, I think it's a great alternative for short days or if you just don't want to spend $18 on UDPP.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro - Steel Grey

I am really happy that I picked up this polish! It is Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro in Steel Grey.
I love the color, the polish goes very smooth and even, and it resists chipping. Most polishes chip right away on me because of my job however I have had this polish on for 4 days and it still looks great! The bottle claims it will last up to 10 days.
I had been looking for this shade for awhile, there are many similar but they were all either too purple, too brown, too light, or too dark. Except of course Chanel Particuliere but I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on a polish.
At $3.99 this polish is just what I was looking for. I have picked up another color from this line and am anxious to see if it applies and holds up as well as Steel Grey.

This is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow polish but I'm thinking it's not so mellow after all. We are finally getting some warm, sunny weather and I wanted bright nails to match!

This polish was really hard to work with. It went on thick with lots of streaking. I have other polishes from this line that I really like but yellows give me problems in any brand.

Here is the overall look.

On my eyes I used UDPP, Toasted on the lid, Smog on the outer corner, Painkiller above the crease, lined the upper lashline with 24/7 Liner in Zero, and lined the lower lashline with Painkiller. All of these are from the Urban Decay Show Pony Shadow Box.

Cover Girl Lashblast Luxe

When it comes to mascara my go to is always Maybelline XXL Extensions. There are only a couple things that convince me to try out a new one, cute packaging and positive reviews from other bloggers. Cover Girl Lashblast Luxe has both.

It's very rare for me to like a mascara that does not have a primer attached however this one works for me. I only did 3 coats for this but would probably add a couple more for normal use. Yes I wear too much mascara. The color I used here is Platinum Black. It has a bit of shimmer to it but it does not show up much once it's on the lashes. The brush is very bulky as well as the packaging but I'm ok with that. Here are the before (left) and after (right) photos. Please don't mind my eyebrows, I wanted to thicken them a little and the growing out before reshaping phase is driving me nuts.

I'm really glad I picked this up. It's nice to have a single step mascara that works. Because of the shimmer it is not as black as I would like, other then that, it lengthens, separates, and gives volume. Have you tried Luxe? Whats your go to mascara?

Sinful Colors Boom Boom

I currently have Sinful Colors Boom Boom on my nails. It is a pretty bright pink. I'm very happy with Sinful Colors polishes. They have a great variety and apply well.
This is 3 coats + a top.
I also added some glitter to the tips. I needed a little bling to help get me through yet another round of snowfall.

Sally Girl Eyeshadow and Polish

I stopped in Sally's yesterday to pick a bottle of top coat and of course got sucked in by all the cute Sally Girl stuff near the register. These are only 99 cents and they had a coupon to get the 6th item free. So here is what I picked up.
These shadows sell as singles but slide together on the sides so it's like making your own palette. I went for neutral/ highlighting shades this time.

Next up is Too Hot polish. This is 2 coats + a top. 3 would have been better but I was short on time.

And finally this is one of the new shades and it doesn't have a name, just the number EH9230. I think it is trying to be a dupe of China Glaze For Audrey. This is also 2 coats + a top.

I like these little polishes. They apply well and there are many colors to choose from. The bottles are very small but at 99 cents still a good buy.

Jumping The Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner Bandwagon

I decided to finally pick up the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner. I purchased Blackest Black, it was less than $9 at Walmart. I have seen many positive reviews about this one and thought I'd give it a try. It goes on very smooth, the brush which is included is just right, and you can easily make a very thin, thick, or in between line. I found it both easy to use and capable of producing some really nice lines.
Here is look I did while trying it out.

A while back someone had asked me about e.l.f. false lashes. I had not tried them but picked up a couple pair. I added the Natural Lash Kit in Black to this look and here are the results.

The lashes are ok. I can't rave about them but considering they are only $1 a pair, they work! I liked the shape and length. I do think they have a more natural look. They applied easily and the glue did it's job. The other kit I purchased is Dramatic Lash, which I haven't had a chance to try yet.

All in all I like both products but the gel liner is fabulous! If you haven't tried it out yet, I highly recommend it!
My eyeshadow in the pics is mostly Urban Decay Oil Slick with a couple random highlighting shades.
The lipgloss is Nars Boogie Nights.
Mascara is XXL Extensions.

e.l.f. Plum & Fire Coral Polishes

Here are a couple e.l.f. polishes I have tried recently. The 1st is Plum and the 2nd is Fire Coral. I am still undecided about these. Anytime I try an elf polish I am a little disappointed. The consistancey and coverage is never quite right but after 3 coats and a top I am usually happy with the color. The only way I'll be picking up more is if it's a color I just can't resist.
I love good deals but to me a good deal is a quality product at a good price. Many elf products are just that but the polishes I'm not sold on. I would rather spend $3-$7 on a polish I want to use again and again then $1 on one that will just clutter up my polish drawer.

A Few Of My Favorte Things

Hello ladies! These are a few things that I'm loving at the moment.
1st up Pure Ice Nail Polishes! The colors I have picked up recently are great and they have all applied very nicely in 2-3 coats, dry quickly, and have staying power. At $2-$2.50 each these are a great buy!
At the moment I'm wearing Wet T Shirt. The colors down the line after Wet T Shirt are Splash, Purple Reign, Twinkle, Kiss Me Here, and Jaguar.

2nd is e.l.f. Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Luminance. This stuff is great! Very light and smooth. This is not as shimmer heavy as I thought it would be. I really like the glow it gives my skin.

Next up is Olay Body Wash with Radiance Ribbons. It claims to help recapture a more youthful glow. I don't know about all that but it smells fabulous, creates a great lather, and leaves my skin feeling smooth.

This one I have had in my gloss drawer for awhile but have been completely overlooking it! It is Nars Giza. This is a very subtle, pretty shade. It's perfect for work and has become a go to for me.

And last but certainly not least, my sweet dog Ava. She is always by my side, or right on my lap, when I'm blogging. She is the only thing on the list that I can guarantee I will never get tired of.

Still Loving Purples - UD Flash & Ice Purple Reign

MAC Spring Colour 2 Forecast

Hi ladies! I ordered a couple lipglasses from the MAC Spring Colour 2 Forecast and they arrived today. I'm really loving coral for spring so both are from that collection. The first is Ember Glow and the second is Cha Cha.

Both are great but I'm loving Ember Glow the most. I can't wait to see it with a tan! Here is a full face shot with Ember Glow. This is after a long day at work so I look a mess with frizzy hair and shiny skin.

Sinful Colors I Love You

This is 3 coats of Sinful Colors I Love You + top coat.
The color is much more pink in person and does not have the blue tone that appears in the photo on the left. The photo on the right is more true to color.
It's very shimmery and pretty and the finish has a little of a metallic look.

I love hearing from you!

When I look at other beauty blogs I am often taken aback by

how talented many of the women are and at times

I feel like I shouldn't even post some of the messy looks I do,

but I enjoy it so much I don't want to stop! lol

I am in no way a pro at applying make up or reviewing products.

Just a regular gal with a love for this stuff!

Anyway, I decided my blog needed a little facelift

so let me know what you think of the new look.

Valentines Day Nails with e.l.f. Bubblegum & Fluorecent Pinks

In honor of Valentines Day I have used elf Bubblegum Pink and Fluorecent Pink.

This is 3 coats of Bubblegum on all but my ring fingers.

3 coats of Fluorecent on the ring fingers and a simple stripe up each of the other nails.

Topped off with a piece of nail art on each ring finger and a top coat on all.

Icey Eyes with Urban Decay Sustainable Shadow Box

With all the snow and ice for inspiration this is my look for today. Far from perfect but I'm happy with it.

I used my Urban Decay Sustainable Shadow Box
UD Primer Potion all over the eye area and underneath.
YDK all over lid, up to brow bone.
Twice Baked at the outer corner and across crease.
Kiddie Pool blended from inner corner across lid.
Random highlight color under brows.
YDK under the eye.
e.l.f. Black liquid eyeliner on top and Jane eye pencil in Black under the eye.
Maybelline XXL Extensions Mascara.

I received this order yesterday. I love elf! It's so nice to go to their website and know that I can afford anything I want and as much of it as I want! Lol. I ordered 2 Lipglasses from Macs Color Forecast yesterday and it cost me nore then this entire order! Anyways, this is what I received.
-2 Eyeshadow Brushes
-3 Polishes Plum, Chocolate, Fire Coral
-Bronzers Luminance and Matte Bronze

-Shimmering Facial Whip in Golden Peach

-Luscious Liquid Lipsticks in Caramel Candy and Brownie Points

-Plumping Lip Glaze in Mocha Ice (I don't like this one) and Champagne

-Liquid Eyeliner in Plum and Copper

-Eyelid Primer in Sheer
-Liquid Eyeshadow in Mocha Madness

The only thing I don't care for is the Lip Glaze in Mocha Ice. The color is just not me.
My favorite items are the Luminance Bronzer, Caramel Candy Lipstick (smells like an Andes mint), and the Golden Peach Facial Whip.
I haven't tried out the polishes yet but they look promising in the bottle.

Joelle Cosmetics Mineral Foundation

I started using Joelle Mineral Foundation about 3 years ago and never looked back. At the time I was still using liquid foundation and my skin was oily with frequent pimples. I wanted to try a mineral foundation but was not willing to shell out the money for Bare Escentuals/Minerals at the time. Joelle had a very inexpensive starter kit which included full size products so I gave it a try.
This foundation is easy to apply, keeps my oily skin under control, and actually cleared up my complexion. My skin is by no means perfect now, not even close, but it is much better then it was when using liquids.
I have never tried another mineral foundation because I have been so happy with this so I cannot say how it compares with other brands.
I use the concealer, foundation, bronzer, and finishing powder. I would say this is a medium coverage. In the summer I use Medium Tan. Pictured is Medium which I'm using right now.
If you are thinking of trying mineral foundation but don't want to make a big investment I would suggest giving Joelle a try.
I have never used the eyeshadows but I may place an order. Some of the colors really caught my eye last time.
I attempted to take pictures as I applied each product but they didn't turn out well.
Bare skin, concealer, foundation, bronzer, finishing powder, all done!

Pure Ice Kiss Me Here & Twinkle Nails

Even though grey is not the best color for my skintone, I always find myself buying more and more of it. I seem to be drawn to it!
